Kyle Leach: Thunder v. Grizzlies

PREDICTION: THUNDER IN 6

At first glance these clubs look very similar. Both score high as Daring and Rugged and low as Wholesome and Reliable. Oklahoma City has slightly more engaged users at 5,786 vs Memphis at 4,060.

Where they differ is in their top interests. I looked at the top interests for Brands, Media, Music, Sports, and TV/Movies (I intentionally left out Public Figures) for each of the segments using our Brands App. Specifically, I’m looking for the % of followers represented by each interest that is tied to basketball. It takes a laser like focus to win and the team with the higher interest in basketball will win the series.

The top 2 interests for both teams have direct ties to the NBA and supports why, as I write this, the series is tied 1-1. Tying the interests into the series shows the following outcomes:
Game 1 (already played): OKC interest @espn def MEM interest @memgrizz
Game 2 (already played): MEM interest @espn def OKC interest @stephenasmith
Game 3 : OKC interest @okcthunder def MEM interest @YouTube
Game 4 : OKC interest @KDTrey5 def MEM interest @nikestore
Game 5 : MEM interest @stephenasmith def OKC interest @MensHumor
Game 6 : OKC interest @SportsCenter def MEM interest @kanyewest
Game 7 (if needed) : MEM interest @NBA def OKC interest @instagram

Comparing ranked top interests also shows that Games 3 and 7 will not be as close as Games 4 and 5. The wildcard in this analysis is the amount of Daringness found for each team. Memphis has 29.2% Daring and Oklahoma City has 22.5%. We will see in the coming days if focus of interests wins out over daring/spirited game play. But my prediction is OKC in 6.
